iCAN 2022 Awards

We share with great joy the results of our participation in the Canadian competition "The 7th International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada, iCAN 2022," organized by the Toronto International Society of Innovation & Advanced Skills (TISIAS). We competed with participants from 81 countries, including universities, companies, and individuals.

TISIAS was established in 2013 in Toronto, Canada, to build a global center and provide a variety of services and opportunities for local and foreign inventors, innovators, students, and researchers. Its goal is to promote their inventions and products in the global market. TISIAS is globally present as an organization participating in numerous exhibitions, contests, and international invention conferences organized by its partners worldwide. As a way of global recognition, TISIAS has established the iCAN event, held annually since 2016, where innovation in different categories is rewarded. Many participants from different countries worldwide take part in this event.

In 2022, Ambar S.A. presented the innovation "GREEN HYDROGEN AND WATER PRODUCTION BY GENERATING LOCAL ELECTRIC ENERGY FROM WASTE HEAT RECOVERY OF PYROMETALLURGIC PROCESSES OR FROM SOLAR ENERGY." In short, it involves producing Green Hydrogen and Water using electric energy generated from the wasted heat of pyrometallurgical industrial processes (such as smelting and furnaces) or solar heat.

With great pride, we announce that in the 7th edition of iCAN’s competition, we received the following three awards for our system:

Gold Medal in the "Nature & Green Innovation" Category

First place achieved in this category, among which are the following:

This award involved advancing as a finalist to the stage of the best among the best.

The Inventors Circle" honored us with a "Canadian Special Award of Excellence.

The Inventors Circle bestowed an award recognizing participants who presented outstanding inventions. The Inventors Circle is the primary collaborating organization with TISIAS for its annual activities, such as the International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada, iCAN. It invites inventors from around the world to Toronto, Canada, to showcase their inventions and products to a broad audience of commercial enterprises, investors, and buyers.

As finalists, we received this significant award, one of the most prestigious in the event. To participate in this stage, in addition to being a finalist, we had to submit a video showcasing our product. Contestants from 81 countries participated, and Ambar S.A. was the sole Chilean company represented at this event.

Video Presentation at iCAN 2022

In this short video, we showcase the system we submitted and introduce the team behind it. The proposed system involves the production of Green Hydrogen and the extraction of atmospheric water using Ambar S.A.'s development of the Stirling Engine-Generator, which generates the electrical energy to power our product. As seen in this visualization, the system has been designed to address two issues: pollution, by producing a clean fuel like Green Hydrogen, and water scarcity, by extracting water from the air.

Our System

1. System Inputs:

a) Solar Heat or the waste heat from processes like Copper Smelting, Furnaces, etc

b) Ambient Air.

2. System Outputs

a) Green Hydrogen.

b) Oxygen.

c) Potable Water

1. Entradas al Sistema:

    a) Calor del Sol o el calor que se pierde (“se bota”)

en una Fundición de Cobre, Horno, etc.

    b) Aire del ambiente.

2. Salidas del Sistema

    a) Hidrógeno verde.

    b) Oxígeno

    c) Agua Potable
